Updates

Update re works starting 2 September 2019

Following the Festival of Motorcycling the works continue to extend along Loch Promenade to Granville Street through to Church Road Marina. At this time the pedestrian crossing at Granville Street and deliveries to pubs/businesses and hotels are not affected but there are changes to traffic management arrangements.

The working area in this location will be extended from 1st September to allow works to start on Monday 2nd September. The main element of these works is the installation of underground ducting for new high voltage electric cables. Please be minded that parking suspension is required approaching this denoted coned area. These areas will be enforced as will the 20mph speed limit currently in operation along the Promenade. We will put additional key signage indicating where pedestrians can access your business when the traffic management is put in place.

For further details please click here to view traffic management plan.

In addition we are working on Central Promenade. Again the working area in this location will be extended from 1st September to allow work to start on Monday 2nd September. The main element of the work will be the installation of underground ducting for new high voltage electric cables. Please be aware that parking will be suspended approaching the coned area. This will be enforced, as will the 20mph speed limit currently in operation along the Promenade.

This work will be done in two phases – seaside first, then moving into the centre of the highway. Phase 1 is expected to run from 2 September through to 13 September while phase 2 is from 13 September through to 20 September.

Right-hand turn exiting/accessing Spectrum Apartments will be maintained. We have refreshed the yellow lines in the lane at the rear of Clarence Terrace as it is essential that it is kept clear of any parked vehicles/skips etc as it will be heavily used and any obstruction may need to be removed. New signs will be added to reflect this.

The designated coach bay on Castle Mona Avenue will come into use for drop off/pick up so it is imperative this is kept clear of all vehicles except coaches. Parking controllers will be monitoring the area and your cooperation would be appreciated.

For further details please click here for phase 1 and click here for phase 2 works.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding. Please support all local businesses/pubs/hotels in this area.
