The Prom is open for business

This Thursday 26 November from 5.00pm, Loch Promenade north bound traffic lane will open from Victoria Street. This provides access to on-street parking alongside the additional parking being provided on Loch Promenade walkway. See detailed traffic management plans - click here  and here

Both drivers and pedestrians will see the progress that has been made on Loch Promenade and benefit from additional parking in the run-up to the Christmas festivities. Along with the restored parking, all 3 side roads to Strand Street will be open for pedestrians. The cones that have prevented direct access from the Sea Terminal to Loch Promenade at Walpole Avenue will also be removed.

Church Road Marina and Broadway will also reopen allowing northbound vehicles to exit the Promenade.

Summerhill will close between 6.30pm and midnight for up to three nights next week to complete the final surface. This work is scheduled to commence on Monday 30 November, but is weather dependent, so updates will be posted on myprom.im or on social media feeds @mypromisleofman

Every effort is being made to support all businesses on the Promenade as the scheme’s Business Liaison Officer Karl explains on this short video. ‘The Prom is open for business, the message is clear, come on down and enjoy some festive spirit this Christmas.’ Click here to view.

2-hour free parking continues to be available on levels 2 and 3 at Chester Street along with free overnight at Parade Street East and by The Tongue (beside Douglas Yacht Club). Douglas Borough Council is also offering free after 5pm on Thursdays for late night shopping and on Saturday and Sundays at Shaw’s Brow and Bottleneck car parks.
